Description
When the Canadians splashed ashore on D-Day, some of them carried bicycles. The hedgerow fighting meant most of them were abandoned to the locals, but the Juno Beach museum has one on display, preserved.
This listing is for one solid pine wood photo block typically described as 4×4 inches, though the milled size puts it closer to 3.5 inches square. It is just shy of inch deep. The toner print is applied and revealed by hand, and is drawn from my personal photography. The back of the piece is titled, signed and dated in ink. You may receive a different block to the one shown in this listing’s photographs; the handmade nature of the print and the grain of the wood makes each piece unique.
The block is sold without any hanging hardware. I recommend mounting it with Command Strips (available upon request for an extra fee), or standing it upright on a desk, shelf or mantelpiece – it will stand on any flat surface. Note that the wood will deepen into a honey colour with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (I think this makes the wood look nicer!)
Ships from Toronto, Canada to Canada, the United States and Europe. Average shipping times are 7-10 working days to the US and Canada, 8-15 working days overseas. Message me for shipping to other regions. A small handling fee is charged to cover the costs of packaging and labour; shipping is close to cost. Insurance and tracking numbers are available by selecting the “shipping upgrade” product available in my shop.
