I was exploring Toronto’s famous Graffiti Alley, which is actually a series of alleys and backstreets that runs through much of the Annex, and is absolutely covered in quality graffiti and street art. This piece wasn’t one of the more accomplished ones, but I loved the tongue in cheek message amidst the edgy slogans and artwork. No doubt “Mom” does too.
This listing is for one solid pine wood photo block typically described as 4×4″, though the milled size puts it closer to 3.5″ square. It is just shy of 1″ deep. The toner print is applied and revealed by hand, and is drawn from my personal photography, taken during a 2015 walk through Toronto. I have highlighted the text with gold leaf paint. The back of the piece is titled, signed and dated in ink. A signed and numbered certificate of authenticity will be sent along with the purchased piece. You will receive the print shown in this listing’s photographs.
The block is sold without any hanging hardware. I recommend mounting it with Command Strips, or standing it upright on a desk, shelf or mantelpiece – it will stand on any flat surface. Note that the wood will deepen into a honey colour with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (I think this makes the wood look nicer!)
