Description
The Musée d’Orsay plays host to some of the most famous Impressionist artworks in the world, but it would be worth a visit even if it was empty. Housed in an old train station, the vaulted ceiling and glassed in back walls are impressive, but it’s the massive gilt station clock that really stands out.
This listing is for one solid pine wood photo block typically described as 4×4″, though the milled size puts it closer to 3.5″. It is just shy of 1″ deep. The toner print is applied and revealed by hand, and is drawn from my personal photography, taken during a 2014 trip to Paris. I have highlighted the centre of the clock with gold leaf paint. There is a knot in the wood just to the left of the X, but it blends into the piece quite well. The back of the piece is titled, signed and dated in ink. A signed and numbered certificate of authenticity will be sent along with the purchased piece. You may receive a different print to the one shown in this listing’s photographs.
The block is sold without any hanging hardware. I recommend mounting it with Command Strips, or standing it upright on a desk, shelf or mantelpiece – it will stand on any flat surface. Note that the wood will deepen into a honey colour with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight (I think this makes the wood look nicer!)
