Candles, Paris, France

I’ve had a busy weekend, so haven’t had much time to dwell on this terrible anniversary. A year ago tonight I was frantically reloading news sites trying to figure out what was happening in the city I consider as much of a home as the town in which I live. I’m glad Paris has persevered, though I worry about the rise of the fascist Le Pen in the wake of the Bataclan attacks. There has been so much awfulness since that dreadful night. Here’s to a better, safer, happier 2017. I think we could all use it. Photo taken in the wonderful Saint Eustache church in the heart of Paris.
