On this cold January night in Toronto, it's nice to think back to a warm June day in Paris. For the first time, in 2015, I ventured out to the Bois de Boulogne. It's quite an experience (and probably not in the way you'd expect). Among the very memorable scenes from that day were these incredible trees. As a Canadian from a boreal forest region, I always find trees an interesting marker of otherness, especially in Europe, with its "forests" of planted, evenly-spaced trees growing in symmetrical rows.
