Abbey Books is one of the wonders of Paris. It was once a wonder of Toronto – I attended its closing sale in university and spent wildly, only to encounter it again not 3 years later when I first visited Paris. Since then, it's gone from a traditional bookstore to an insanely overstuffed book lovers' paradise, with an owner who can easily find the needles in this most literary of haystacks. Shakespeare and Co. gets all the attention, but if you're a true bibliophile, this should be the main stop on your Paris itinerary.
