Description
Found this rusty bike on a rusty chain at the canal d’Ourcq, which runs from Bastille around to the quais. It’s a lovely, quiet walk, away from the traffic noise and gaggles of pedestrians above. Houseboats line the canal as it opens up into the Seine, and when you swing round onto the quai, you’re greeted with a beautiful vista of the islands. This is definitely one of Paris’ secret treasures!
My artworks are toner photo prints, handcrafted on 8×8 inch wood blocks – or 7.5 inches after milling. To differentiate them from my regular photo blocks, I am adding a metal leaf border and a cast-metal fleur de lys clavos at the corner of each piece, which will come with a signed certificate of authenticity indicating that it is a unique print created for the City of Delight project. The blocks are freestanding but can also be mounted using hanging hardware, which available as a separate product on the site. I have set the price of each piece at $75 to reflect Paris’ famous ’75’ postcode. 20% of my profits will be donated to UNESCO and the UNHCR at the end of 2016.
